Kanan Jarrus, introduced in the animated TV show Star Wars Rebels, is a pivotal figure in the early rebellion against the Galactic Empire.

Born Caleb Dume, he was a Padawan learner during the Clone Wars. He survived Order 66, the Jedi purge, after his master sacrificed herself to save him. Haunted by the loss and forced to hide his identity, he abandoned the ways of the Jedi.

Adopting the name Kanan Jarrus, he became a smuggler and pilot. His life took a new turn when he joined the crew of the Ghost, a small rebel cell. He reluctantly began training Ezra Bridger, a Force-sensitive youth, in the ways of the Force.

Throughout Star Wars Rebels, Kanan grapples with his past, confronts his fears, and rediscovers his connection to the Force, ultimately sacrificing himself to save his friends and further the Rebel cause.
